Nigel Farage has attacked Prince Harry, saying that when William becomes king he would want him ‘to live forever to stop Harry becoming king’.

Well the Queen can’t get involved in politics, but if she could, I’m sure she would fight tooth and nail to stop Nigel getting anywhere near Downing Street!

When it comes to politics, politicians are fair game – we put ourselves in the firing line and expect to be attacked. We can give as good as we get. But the Royal Family can’t defend themselves from such attacks – it’s not royal etiquette – so for Farage to attack members of the Royal Family in the way that he has done is particularly low.

The sad thing is, Mr Farage could be on his way to Downing Street if rumours of an election pact with the Conservatives are true. It’s pretty clear now that an election is coming – why else would ‘Back Boris’ leaflets be delivered seemingly all around the country – and Boris would do anything to get a working majority. No doubt Nigel will want a seat at the table even though as an MEP he won’t be able to stand!

For the sake of the nation, I hope people will stand up and say ‘no, I will not Back Boris‘. We don’t want Nigel’s brand of hateful politics to be anywhere near the seat of power in this country.

And that’s the royal ‘we’, as I’m sure I speak for the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.
