I attended part of the Planning Committee at Walsall Council on Thursday night to see it in action debating the proposal for a giant battery site in the field adjacent the Duckery in Chapel Lane.

Thankfully, everyone who spoke supported the officers’ recommendations to oppose this application. I often ride my bike near this pleasant countryside location – its not the right place for something that would be better placed at a more industrial location. Apparently Sandwell Council supports Walsall in its rejection of this application.

It is now down to the Planning Inspectorate – as Walsall’s rejection was appealed – to decide whether that decision should be upheld or overturned. Hopefully sense will prevail!
