I received the following information which I thought would be of interest:
I wanted to let you know that over the last year, Citizens Advice in Walsall has been working with Citizens Advice in Sandwell to look at a more secure and sustainable future for the service.
Last Thursday (October 1st) the two organisations merged and will now be known as Citizens Advice Sandwell & Walsall.
We hope that by bringing these two organisations together we can pool the skills, knowledge and experience of both and strengthen the presence of Citizens Advice in Walsall.
It has been a very difficult time for people as we have not been able to open our doors in the usual way, although we have always been available to give advice via the national Adviceline. Demand has been great during the pandemic, with so many people being affected financially. We have now got a local number, so Walsall and Sandwell residents can call us directly and we can meet more of that demand – the number is 03003309017.
Over the next few weeks we will start to be able to offer appointments to vulnerable residents who struggle with getting help over the phone and also we will be offering a webchat service.
I hope that you will see that the service is here to stay in Walsall, that you will keep in touch and also share this information with your constituents.
