FREE BUS TRAVEL FOR WASPI WOMEN IN THE WEST MIDLANDS

by danielbarker on 1 November, 2019

You may not be aware of this but West Midlands women born between 6 March 1954 and 5 November 1954 are now entitled to a Women’s Concessionary Travel Pass.

It means thousands of women across the West Midlands can get the bus – or catch the Metro – free of charge after 09:30, Mondays to Fridays, and all day at weekends.

The pass also means WASPIs (Women Against State Pension Inequality) can buy a standard ticket on National Express West Midlands buses for just £1 before 09:30, just like OAPs can. And they can also take a child with them for £1.

We know that not all the women who are entitled to this free travel have signed up for it yet, so if you are able to spread the word at all we would really appreciate it.

They can apply on the Transport for West Midlands website here.
