Anyone sleeping rough in Walsall can access emergency accommodation and support during periods of exceptionally cold weather.

The Night Shelter is opposite the Civic Centre in Walsall Town Centre.

• This year’s Night Shelter will run from 1st December.
• Access to the Night Shelter will be on a first come first served basis and will offer 26 spaces for rough sleepers.
• Access will be between 8pm and 11pm and will operate a ‘no leave and return’ policy between the hours of 11pm and 7.30am.
• Access after 11pm will only be allowed by prior agreement.
• Service users must vacate the shelter by 9am the following morning.
In addition to the 3 months that the night shelter will be open on a nightly basis, there is also emergency provision for the month of November 2018 and for March 2019.

During those months, the shelter will open once the temperature is forecast to drop to 00C degrees for 2 consecutive nights or more as forecast by the Metrological Office and broadcast on the BBC website.
