I seem to be using a lot of old expressions lately, and here’s another one – if you can’t beat them, join them! Theresa, obviously deciding she won’t be beating Labour at the next election, has decided to join them in promising money for things without saying where it’s coming from.

Oh she did mention a Brexit dividend, but experts have widely condemned the notion that there will be one, so this bit of fiction was obviously thrown in to please Boris!

Yes, we do need new money for the NHS, and we will hold them to this pledge, but:
1) Why’s it taken them so long to give this commitment when it’s been so obvious for so long that new money was needed?
2) Where’s the money going to come from?

As the welfare state has been cut back to the bone with the role-out of Universal Credit leaving many people in desperate circumstances, we have to conclude that the Government will have to put up taxes to pay for this. Question is, why can’t they just be honest for once and tell us this!
