On Saturday I saw for the first time the revised plans for the former Meadow House site off Stroud Avenue.
Plans to build more houses on the site were withdrawn earlier this year. The new plans are a small revision to the Planning Permission which already exists on the site for a Nursing Home. The alterations are minor in that a pitched roof has been added instead of the original flat roof.
The reason for the revision is so that staff quarters and other service areas can be moved into the loft space to free up space on the ground floor for patients to add a day room and gym for physiotherapy.
The important thing as far as local residents are concerned is that the use remains the same, it will still be a Nursing Home.
The 73 bed facility will help to ease bed blocking issues at the Manor Hospital and provide much needed nursing home facilities for the area.
You can view the plans and details of what it will look like by going on the Planning Portal on the Council’s website where you can enter the following Planning Application Number: 18/0364
Variation of planning condition 2 of 15/0221 to alter the plans list to amend the design of the nursing home.
Site Address: LAND OFF REDSAND CLOSE, (FORMER MEADOW HOUSE, STROUD AVENUE) WALSALL
I imagine if you live within the Stroud Avenue area, this information will be of interest!
