Trees go missing in Magness Crescent

by danielbarker on 18 August, 2017

Colleagues in Short Heath Ward have been chasing up Clean and Green for an answer to questions from a number of residents of Magness Crescent following the disappearance of three street trees in recent months.

Here’s the answer they received:

“We have recently removed three trees at Magness Crescent. All three were removed due to their condition, including one tree which had suffered extensive damage as a result of a road traffic incident.

The decision to remove a tree is not taken lightly and removal is only undertaken as a last resort. We endeavour to replace any trees that are removed, in order to maintain the borough’s tree stock. We will therefore look to do so in this particular instance.”

So there you have it, no mystery, but it would have been good if residents had been informed. We have asked when replacement trees will be planted and what type of trees will be used?
