Summer School Holiday – FREE Young people MotoX Referral opportunity, Bike Light Project Walsall
General Overview:
Frank F Harrison Community Association manages the Harrison MotoX facility. We have a good size main scrambling track as well as a smaller training track suitable for younger aged participants to develop their riding skills.
• We have a wide selection of different sized scramble motorbikes, quads and relevant safety equipment for young people to use whilst at our facility.
• The community association delivers a range of youth projects and activities for young people from Harrison Motox facility, working with schools, youth service providers, statutory organisation and independent charities and community interest groups.
• Bike Light Programme:
Through funding from Children in Need F Harrison Community Association is able to offer the opportunity for young people aged 8 – 19 to access the Harrison MotoX facility to participate in a 10 week programme of activities at times when they might get caught up in negative behaviour.
• The aim of the programme is to provide positive activities, improve confidence and self esteem, increase learning opportunities, enable young people to take on roles of responsibility and inspire them and their peers to achieve.
• The programme is to be used as both a re-educational tool and as a safe legal outlet for MotoX riding. Young people who persist in negative behaviour will be excluded from the programme.

Delivery Activities:
The programme will be delivered at evening and weekends. Each participant will attend for one session per week for a total of 10 weeks.
Young people will be required to undertake the following activities within the 10 week programme
• Induction – including Health & Safety; • Track maintenance • Marshalling Skills • Safe Riding Skills – Scramble motorbikes/ Quads weather permitted • Basic Mechanics • Written portfolio of work completed • ASDAN Road wise – short course for 14 – 19 years old • Youth Star – Personal Development Tool • Complete evaluation of project

Referrals will be accepted from the following agencies:-
• Police • ASB Unit – Walsall Council • Social Housing Landlords • Schools • Youth Service • Family Support Worker • Community Organisations • Youth Offending Team • Trouble Families Team
