One week on – analysis of what the parties should have got

by danielbarker on 16 June, 2017

Under a truly proportional electoral system, the main UK-wide parties would have got the following number of seats:
Conservative – 276
Labour – 260
Liberal Democrat – 48
Greens – 10
UKIP – 12

Interestingly for those critical of the DUP, under PR they would only have 6 seats and would not be in a position to wield the disproportionate power they are currently enjoying. So much for the common perception that it’s proportional representation that gives small parties more power!
