HS2 – The key to the future prosperity of Willenhall and the Black Country

by danielbarker on 20 April, 2015

If you believe that Willenhall should have its own train station. If you want to see Walsall more than just a minor backwater end of the line none destination on the national rail network, then how you vote in this election should be very important to you.

Why? Because the way you vote could realise your dream, or consign it to the scrapheap! Why is that? Because for both of these things to happen, Willenhall getting its own train station and Walsall train station being at the heart of a nationwide rail network requires more capacity within the Midlands rail network. For that to happen HS2 has to go ahead.

UKIP and the Greens want to scrap HS2. A vote for either Party would mean that you don’t care if Willenhall gets a train station or not. A vote for either Party would leave Walsall in a sidings a backwater as far as rail travel is concerned forcing us to rely on the creaking road network that is not fit for purpose.

Liberal Democrats have fought to protect those affected by the HS2 proposals whilst at the same time recognising that HS2 is at the very heart of pumping new life into the Midlands and the North.
