Only one in three voters backs Tory right-to-buy expansion policy

by danielbarker on 31 March, 2015

A YouGov/Times survey reveals that only a third of the public backs a Conservative proposal to extend the right to buy to housing associations. The results showed that 34% of the public backed the idea of extending the right to buy, 39% thought it a bad idea and 27% were not sure. Housing associations are urging all three parties not to extend the right to buy, claiming that they won’t be able to afford to replace the homes. It comes as David Cameron pledged to put “rocket boosters” under right-to-buy laws.

The lesson to be learnt – before launching what sounds like a good election winner, check it out with those affected most first!
