Sellafield clean-up cost hits £53bn
The NAO has said that the cost of decommissioning and cleaning up the Sellafield nuclear site in Cumbria has increased by £5bn to £53bn. A year ago the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, the body responsible for the clean-up, said the cost would be £48bn.

Reading Borough Council homes to get free solar panels
Solar panels are being fitted to hundreds of council houses in Reading. Reading Borough Council said the £1.8m scheme would pay for itself over two decades, with income generated through the government’s feed-in-tariff. The authority said about 450 homes were chosen for their design and position, and that residents would save up to £300 a year on their energy bills.
