Short heath Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that the Post Office in High Road, Lane Head is set for a major refurbishment as part of the Coalition Government’s modernisation modernisation plans.

Work is due to start on the 28th October and the new-look Post Office is scheduled to open in its current location at 1pm Wednesday 12th November.

This refurbishment is part of a programme of investment being delivered by Liberal Democrats in Government which has seen £1.34bn committed to modernisation of the Post Office Network. November 2013 saw a further £640m injected over a period up to 2018. The aim is to create a more modern and convenient retail experience for users of the Post Office which will include longer opening hours.
